Heather Small

Heather Small is an English singer, who is best known for being the lead singer in the band M People. Born on 20th January 1965 and raised in West London, she was part of the group ‘Hot House’ when she was a teenager.

In 1997, Heather sang alongside a wide range of artist's including Tom Jones and Lou Reed. The song was the official 1997 Children in need charity release. It was the UK's number one single for three weeks. Selling over a million copies

In 2000, Heather’s solo album ‘Proud’ was closely affiliated with the British Olympics team of the time. With this album Heather has achieved international success. Later the song ‘Proud’ was used as the theme song to The Oprah Winfrey Show, on which she appeared as a guest.

Heather also sang three songs at the Tsunami Relief Concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Heather’s dance partner on Strictly Come Dancing will be the only new male professional dancer on strictly, Brian Fortuna.
