Mark Foster

Mark FosterMark Foster was born on 12th May 1970 in Essex. He is a British swimmer, specialising in butterfly and freestyle at 50 metres.


Mark has been an Olympic athlete for 20 years. He first competed in Seoul 1988, swimming the 4x100m Freestyle Relay and in the 50m Freestyle. He has also competed in Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008. Even though he failed to qualify for Athens 2004 by 0.07 seconds, he got gold in the World Short Course Championships in Indianapolis later that year. He was the flag bearer for Team GB at the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008.

Mark’s dance partner on Strictly Come Dancing will be the new comer on the show Hayley Holt.
