Danielle Jane Harmer (Dani Harmer) , born 8 February 1989, is an English television actress, presenter and singer.
Dani Harmer is among one of the fourteen celebrity contestant who will be taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing series 10.
Dani Harmer will be dancing with professional dancer Vincent Simone.
Dani Harmer is best known for portraying popular CBBC character Tracy Beaker. Bringing the Jacqueline Wilson character to life in TV and film for over 10 years, Dani received a gold Blue Peter badge for her portrayal of the young orphan.
She also played Molly Venables in the BBC sitcom After You’ve Gone.
Dani has her own TV show called Dani’s House, which was to concluded on 19 July 2012. A spin-off series has been confirmed for Dani’s House, which will be called ‘Dani’s Castle’.
Dani in 2012, appeared in the BBC One show Let’s Dance For Sport Relief, alongside Friday Download presenter Tyger Drew-Honey.
Dani started her acting career at the age of six, starring in the rock musical The Who’s Tommy in the West End. She later appeared in a number of pantomimes such as Snow White, Peter Pan and Dick Whittington. Dani also appeared as an extra in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Dani’s big break came when she landed the title role in CBBC’s dramedy series The Story of Tracy Beaker, which she starred in for five series’ and also the feature length film, Tracy Beaker’s Movie of Me.
Dani was nominated for a BAFTA in 2010, for her performance as Tracy Beaker in its various incarnations with the programme attracting another nomination in the Children’s Drama Category at the 2011 RTS Awards.
Dani Harmer has recently turned her hand to singing. She recorded the theme song to Dani’s House, which was later released as a single.
