Former Professional Dancers

Camilla Dallerup

Camilla Dallerup (born 1974) is a Danish ballroom dancer,  who lives in the UK. Camilla has been dancing from the young age of two. Her mother used to take her to dance classes in Aalborg, Denmark. At the age of 12, Camilla won the Danish Junior Championships.

After she moved to England, she partnered with Brendan Cole, with whom in 2003, she got the 3rd place for Latin America at the UK Closed Championships.

She has appeared in all four series of Strictly Come Dancing. Her nine year relationship with her fiancé and dance partner Brendan broke up in 2004, due to his alleged affair with BBC newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky.

Camilla’s dance partner now is fellow “Strictly Come Dancing” professional, Ian Waite. They were placed 2nd for Latin American at the 2005 UK Closed Championships.

Performance on Strictly Come Dancing:

  • Series 1 – David Dickinson, out in the third week.
  • Series 2 – Roger Black, out in the sixth week.
  • Series 3 – James Martin, with whom she made it to the semi-final. Persistent rumours of a romance probably assisted their high finish.
  • Series 4 – Ray Fearon, out in the sixth week.
  • Series 5 – third place with Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones.

She competed in the Eurovision Dance Contest 2007, along with her former partner Brendan Cole.
