Bruce Forsyth, CBE

Bruce Forsyth, CBE (born on 22 February 1928) is a British showman, entertainer and gameshow host. He achieved his celebrity status on the show ‘Sunday Night at the London Palladium’. More recently he has presented the television shows ‘The Generation Game’, ‘Play Your Cards Right’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

Bruce was married to Penny Calvert from 1953 to 1973, with whom he had three daughters. Later he was married to Anthea Redfern from 1973 to 1979, with whom he had two children. Anthea was the hostess on ‘The Generation Game’ at the time. After two failed marriages he married to the 1975 Miss World, Wilnelia Merced, who is his current wife, with whom he has a son.

Bruce has also worked in the United States, in 1986, hosting a game show on ABC, known as Bruce Forsyth’s Hot Streak. He has hosted several television shows since the 1960s which include comedy and light entertainment shows.

Throughout his illustrious career, Sir Bruce has been awarded a multitude of awards, including a Royal Television Society Lifetime Achievement Award, a CBE, an OBE and a knighthood. Most recently Sir Bruce has also been awarded the ‘longest career as a male TV entertainer’ by the Guinness Book of Records.

The Strictly Come Dancing host legendary Bruce Forsyth adds glamour and humour to the series. Will he carry on the high performance of previous series this year.
