Strictly Come Dancing

The three remaining couples in the semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing danced the Argentine Tango and a dance of their choice. Joint top of the leader board were Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon.

First up were Lisa Snowdon and Brendon Cole who danced a fantastic Argentine Tango and scored 35 from the judges. Len Goodman said that the whole dance had intensity and that he loved it. Next up were Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup who danced the Jive and scored 33 from the judges.

The third couple to dance was Rachel Stevens and Vincent Simone who danced the Argentine Tango and scored 39 from the judges. Arlene Philips said that this dance was about longing and yearning and that Rachel connected with Vincent well. The score of 39 matched the top score for an Argentine Tango previously scored by Mark Ramprakash in series four.

After this Lisa Snowdon and Brendon Cole danced the Quickstep and scored a perfect score of 40 from the judges. Bruno Tonioli said that it was light as a shooting star. This was another record broken in this series as this was the highest score for a Quickstep in Strictly Come Dancing history.

After this Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup danced the Argentine Tango and scored 34 from the judges. Len Goodman said that the intricacy of the feet was lacking. Then Rachel and Vincent danced the American Smooth and scored 36 from the judges. Len Goodman said that he liked it but that it wasn’t a Foxtrot based American Smooth. To which Craig Revel Horwood replied ‘Don’t listen to Len. It was gorgeous, it is an American Smooth and it was lovely’.

Rachel and Vincent :     9 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 39
Lisa and Brendon :       8 + 8 + 10 + 9 = 35
Tom and Camilla :       8 + 8 + 9 + 9 = 34

Second dance
Lisa and Brendon (Quickstep):              10 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 40
Rachel and Vincent (American Smooth): 9 + 9 + 8 + 10 = 36
Tom and Camilla ((Jive):                      8 + 8 + 9 + 8 = 33
