Aliona Vilani withdraws from Strictly Come Dancing after suffering an injury

Strictly Come Dancing 2011 series winning dancer Aliona Vilani, has had to withdraw from 2012 series 10 after suffering an injury.

According to reports Aliona Vilani has a fractured right ankle, and isn’t expected to be able to perform for up to 14 days, when Strictly Come Dancing returns next week for its 2012 series competition.

The show will be hosted by the legendary Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly leaving her unable to take part in the first few weeks of live episodes.

A statement on the Strictly Come Dancing website said: ‘Aliona suffered a hairline fracture to her ankle today while training with partner Johnny Ball’.

BBC website has confirmed that a star from the US version of So You Think You Can Dance will be Johnny Ball’s new partner in Strictly Come Dancing series . 32-year-old Iveta Lukosiute will replace Aliona Vilani. .

Aliona Vilani won the competition with McFly’s Harry Judd in 2011.
