Couples face two dances to get through to quarter finals

The couples first danced their ballroom dance. First couple to dance off was Rachel Stevens and Vincent Simone. They danced the Waltz and scored 39. Arlene Philips compared her dance to last year’s winner Alisha Dixon. Next up to dance were Lisa Snowdon and Brendon Cole, who scored 39 for their Foxtrot.

After this ‘The One Show’ host Christine Bleakley and Matthew Cutler danced the Tango. The Judges gave them 28 out of 40. Craig Revel Horwood said that it was not sharp enough all the way through. Then Austin Healey and Erin Boag danced the Foxtrot and scored 36 from the judges. Arlene Philips said that half way through he lost his performance. Bruno Tonioli said that the performance was right at the top and gave him a score of 10.

Next up were Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup, who danced the Waltz and scored 35. Len Goodman said that it was fantastic and pointed out that there were mistakes in everyone’s dances. He said that Chambers’ posterior was sticking out when he did the pivots and he said he was going to ignore it and gave him a 10.

After this the couples danced their Latin dances. Stevens and Simone danced the Paso Doble and scored 32. Philips said that she didn’t quite feel the Paso’s aggression in Steven’s face. Snowdon and Cole danced the Cha cha cha and scored 37. Goodman pointed out that Cole had given up all his talent to show off Snowdon’s talent.

Bleakley and Cutler danced the Salsa and scored 30. Revel Horwood said that it was very stompy but that the energy was fantastic. Healey and Boag danced the Paso Doble and scored 38. Goodman said that Healey was like a Spanish waiter and that he was very disappointed. The other three judges disagreed and gave him a perfect score of 10 each. Tonioli said that he had never seen such a powerful delivery in selling something.

Last to dance the Latin were Chambers and Dallerup. They scored 35 for their Samba. Sunday night’s results show will see two couples face the dance off and another couple leave the competition for good.
