Strictly Come Dancing Series 10, Week 1 Show 2

The remaining eight celebrities with their dance partners performed tonight. They danced a waltz or a cha cha cha in the first week.

The first couple to take to the floor was Kimberly Walsh and Pasha Kovalev. They performed a cha cha cha.
Len said the dance was clean and Bruno commented that Kimberly knows how to sell it. The couple scored a total of 28 points, the second highest score of the first week.

The judges scored the couple as follows:

Craig – 7
Darcey – 7
Len – 7
Bruno – 7
Total from the judges: 28 points

Sid Owen and Ola Jordan took the floor as the second performing couple. They danced a waltz. Bruno said “I cannot believe it… pleasantly surprised…”. Craig said that Sid has “Fantastic story telling…” The couple scored a respected 26 points for their waltz.

The judges scored the couple as follows:

Craig – 6
Darcey – 6
Len – 7
Bruno – 7

Total from the judges: 26 points

Johnny Ball whose original partner was Aliona Vilani was resting because of her ankle injury. Johnny took the stage with professional dancer Iveta Lukosiute performing a cha cha cha. Craig said Johnny’s mining act was distracting. Len recalled “a bit of … last of summer wine…” a reference to the sitcom. Johnny’s 17 points put him just above the Golden girl Victoria Pendleton who has the lowest score of 16 so far.

The judges scored the couple as follows:

Craig – 3
Darcey – 5
Len – 5
Bruno – 4

Total from the judges: 17 points

Dani Harmer took the floor with her dancing partner professional dancer Vincent Simone to perform a waltz. Darcey said that she was impressed with Dani’s performance. Dani & Vincent scored 21 points for their waltz.

The judges scored the couple as follows:
Craig – 5
Darcey – 5
Len – 6
Bruno – 5

Total from the judges: 21 points

First week’s wow factor came from the bubbly and energetic Lisa Riley. Lisa performed a cha cha cha with professional dancer Robin Windsor. They scored the highest of the week with a whopping 30 points. Len called Lisa “funky monkey…” . The critical Craig had a positive comment to say stating that Lisa “can dance”.

The judges scored the couple as follows:
Craig – 8
Darcey – 8
Len – 7
Bruno – 7

Total from the judges: 30 points

Richard Arnold performed a waltz with professional dancer Erin Boag. Bruno said the dance was “boring” and “nothing was happening”. Craig commented that it was a “good effort”. The couple scored 22 points for their dance.

The judges scored the couple as follows:

Darcey – 5
Len – 7
Bruno – 5

Total from the judges: 22 points

Jerry Hall and Anton Du Beke performed a cha cha cha. Judge Craig observed that Jerry was “taking minimal to a whole new level…”. Their dance gave them 18 points from judges.

Len – 5
Bruno – 5

Total from the judges: 18 points

The last couple to take to the floor was Louis Antoine Smith and his dance partner professional dancer Flavia Cacace. The Olympic medalist performed a waltz. The head judge Len Goodman said “It wasn’t the Gold medal performance…” but Darcy had a bit of soft spot for Louis giving a high score of 8 points for their waltz. The couple scored 27 points for their waltz.

Len – 6
Bruno – 7
